On February 5, 2024, Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna presented a landmark budget for the financial year 2024-25, totaling ₹7.36 lakh crore. The budget aims to enhance medical facilities and ensure better healthcare access for citizens. Additionally, the pension for destitute women has been increased from ₹500 to ₹1,000 per month, benefiting approximately 30 lakh women.

Economic Growth and Fiscal Management: The Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) is projected to grow by 5.8% over the previous year, reflecting positive economic momentum. The budget outlines a revenue surplus of 3% of GSDP and targets a fiscal deficit of 3.46%, ensuring fiscal discipline while promoting growth.
